Sightseeing tour: the city of Novgorod, Kremlin, St. Sofia Cathedral (XI c.), (no visit to the cathedral of St. Sofia), Yaroslav Court, ancient market place (architectural complex of XI – XVIII cc.), open-air museum of wooden architecture “Vitoslavlitsy” (XVI – XIX cc.)

Lunch at the country restaurant “Yurjevskoye podvorje” (“Yurjevo yard”). «Bemyguest” program».

Meeting with Russian family of hereditary musicians: a father, daughters, a granddaughter, a nephew and a niece. According to the old Russian traditions the family bread & salt greeting. During the meeting each of the family members tells about himself and introduces the folk Russian instruments: accordion, balalaika (a folk three-stringed musical instrument), domra, gusli (psaltery), rzaleyka (pipes), rattle, spoons.

The guests will be taught to bake bliny (pancakes), to sing Russian songs and play the games, to dance Russian folk dance. One who wishes can taste Russian nalivka (liqueur) and find out its ingredients....

The family meeting will conclude the famous “Kalinka” and family orchestra (together with the quests).

Trip to the city of Valday (140 km from V. Novgorod)

The pearl of Russian architecture - Valday Iversky Bogoroditsky (Our Lady) Sviatoozersky (Holy lake) Monastery 1653 г. – is located on the picturesque Selvitsky island on the lake Valday.

The visit to Valday Monastery gives you the opportunity to see unique history – and art centre of Russian culture to feel the world of Russian orthodoxy. The miracle-working icon of the Iverskaya Mother of God is kept in the monastery.

Visit to a farmer house (horse breeding, cattle farm, fish breeding), joiner’s shop where you can buy wood knob of the master Danila Terentjev.

Visit to a souvenir shop. There are Russian arms, wood knob, stuffed animals and, of course, traditional Valday bells.

Departure to the city of Staraya Russa (90 km from V. Novgorod)

Visit to the house-museum of Fyodor Dostoyevsky – Starorussky period of the writer’s life and his creative activities. Here in Staraya Russa the writer completed in November 1880 his famous novels “The Brothers Karamazov” and “Demons”.

City tour of Staraya Russa: Cathedral of Our Saviour (XII c.), the church of St. George the Victorious, the church of Mina (XIV c), the Trinity church (XII c.)

Visit to health resort “Staraya Russa” the oldest health resort in the North - West of Russia (founded in 1828). Muravjovsky stream one of the powerful among the European natural mineral springs a symbol of the resort shows inexhaustibility of Staraya Russa “ land sea”.

Fish picnic - picturesque place on the shore of the lake Ilmen
